Painters in Gungahlin
Gungahlin is one of Canberra’s newest districts. Its homes are young, but rendered walls, fibre-cement cladding and builder-grade interiors still need repainting sooner than many owners expect.
- Washable interior upgrades
- Render crack repair and repaint
- Fibre-cement cladding
- Townhouse complexes
Newer homes, different needs
Most of Gungahlin has been built since the 1990s, with suburbs such as Franklin and Harrison developed in the 2000s and others such as Casey following later. Housing is a mix of detached homes on compact blocks, townhouses and apartments, many finished in acrylic render, fibre-cement sheeting and Colorbond.
Builder-grade interior paint is often a single flat coat that marks easily, and exterior render can develop hairline cracks as a house settles. Both are straightforward to fix properly with the right preparation and products.
Typical painting work in Gungahlin
Typical work includes upgrading interiors to a washable finish, repainting rendered walls after crack repairs, refreshing fibre-cement cladding, and painting townhouse complexes for owners corporations. On compact blocks with close neighbours, we plan access and overspray protection carefully.

Gungahlin painting questions
Our house is only ten years old. Does it really need repainting?
Not always, but builder-grade interior paint often marks and scuffs easily, and west-facing exterior walls fade faster under Canberra’s UV. We’ll give you an honest view when we look at it.
Can you fix cracks in our rendered walls?
Fine settlement cracks in acrylic render can usually be filled with a flexible filler and repainted. Wider or growing cracks may need a builder or engineer first, and we’ll tell you if that’s the case.
Do you paint apartment and townhouse common areas?
Yes. We work with owners corporations and strata managers on stairwells, corridors, foyers and exteriors.
